Okay... whether or not to teach our kids about Santa. Joe and I decided that we are not going to teach our kids about Santa. We are going to teach our children about the Spirit of Santa that represents the wise men giving the baby Jesus gifts at his birth. We also decided that we are going to teach them about a man who called himself St. Nick or Santa who made toys to give to the less fortunate. We also decided that one tradition we would like to do is have our kids go to a giving tree and pick out a person they would like to give to and then we will take them to the store and have them pick out the item they would like to give. One thing that our family strives on is that the season for giving is year round but Christmas is a special time of year not because of the retail stores but because of the spirit of celebrating the greatest gift of all the birth of Jesus Christ.
Is it wrong to not teach your kids about Santa? We will tell our kids that the men dressed up in red and white in the malls and stores is not real but tell them what he represents.

I don't think it is wront at all to not teach them of Santa, but beleive me. . .they have this way of finding out. Addie came to me in a store and said "Mom, it's Santa!!" I don't think that I even said his name to her before. I just had to say "Who told you about him??"
