November 2009

This year has really flown for us! I can't believe that is almost 2010! That is going to be really hard for me to write! Anyway... We are busy as bees and I should say that is not a surprise to me. Joe is off at the FDX training with the ROTC this weekend and I must add that I miss him a lot, but I shouldn't wine because he is going to be back on Saturday. Zoey goes to day care full time but it so nice because they do preschool with her while she is there. She has grown more and more and I can't blink! She already knows the tune to the ABC's and can say all the letters with a little help. She LOVES books and is entertained for hours looking at the pictures and having Joe and me read to her. Another thing that we do a lot with her is counting. She can count to 10 with some help but not much. Right now we are potty training and it is hard because she refuses to go at the new day care center. I have been so busy... I have started to work full time for Comcast digital cable, so far I like it but I find it really hard to be a working mom and also have everything at home to do. For those that read this and don't know... I am a NEAT FREAK! And being gone 40+ hours a week dosen't really help the mess. Our room is the worst! Another thing that I am pretty proud about is the fact that I have gotten all my Christmas shopping done! We draw names with our extended family and this year Joe and I have decided to give pressents in our respective famlies' name to a child that needs it. It was mainly Joe's idea but I thought that was a really sweet thing for our family to start doing.

Just one more thing,
Joe and I wish that people would STOP asking Zoey if Santa was coming to our house this year. We have decided to not teach our children about Santa in the world's sence. I think that is strongly LIEING to our children that some guy comes into our house and leaves gifts. Instead we are going to teach her that a long time ago there was a man who gave little poor kids gifts because he wanted to be like the wise men giving gifts to Jesus when he was born. I guess you could say that we are going to teach her about the Spirit of Santa and not the Jolly red man in a suit. Call us mean but oh well.

I wouldn't call you mean. You are entitled to teach whatever you want (reasonably obviously). But I don't agree that it is lieing. It's all in good fun, it's just a tradition and they figure it out soon enough. It's not malicious. It is not a lie, it's more of a fairy tale coming to life. It's supposed to be a magical time of year. What's more magical than Santa?
