American West Heritage Center

Today we went to the Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center here in Logan. It was a lot of fun! It was fun petting the mini cows, goats and sheep. In the section called, "turtle town" we got to hold a baby water turtle. Zoey liked it because it was a turtle her size. There was a tortus there that was HUGE! One of my favorite attracktions was the Jenson Farm. They had stalls full of baby ducks, chicks and bunnies. The kid that ran the bunny area asked me to watch it for a few minutes and left me there to handle a bunch of kids and adults trying to pick up the little bunnies. Zoey liked how soft they were and laughed when they hopped around on the ground. Joe showed her the mini cow that was about 3 feet tall at the shoulders. She thought it was kind of weird but funny, until it tried to run Joe and her over. Not so funny! There were hay rides, horse back rides, muttun bustin, baby animals, home made candy, and all the stuff that any adult or kid would like! One of our favorite things to watch was the Mutton Bustin! Those little cow boys are so adorable! Zoey for some reason would laugh when they fell off the sheep! We saw a 30 foot python and a 20 foot python snake! Inside one of the buildings they had a reptile rescue exhibit and some exhotic insects from Africa. It wasn't so "American Heritage" if you ask me but it was pretty neat seeing a 5 or 6 inch centipede! While at the petting zoo Joe put Zoey next to the chicken cage to let her get a look and a rooster tried to attack her. It scared her really bad, but in the end she liked the whole expereince. It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to take her next year when she can walk around! By the way it made it to about 70 degrees here in Logan! Yay what a great day for a family outing!
