The Viewing

We went to Grandpa's viewing tonight. I will have to say that it was the best viewing I have ever been to. He was smiling and had a great complexion on his face. I did cry though... When I took Zoey up to him she wanted to be held by him and kept reaching for him. It was a great turn out and it turns out that my RS president and her husband knew grandpa pretty well and actually took one of his dogs after he couldn't take care of her any more and my parents have a dog from the same litter. They had to usher people by rows from the chapel into the viewing because there was so many people. The line wrapped around the church, so they opened the chapel and filled it and then only had a line going from the chapel to the viewing. It was a nice flow of people though because they would enter and go into the chapel, and then get up when their row was called and stand in line to make their way to the viewing. They had a video and plenty of pictures for people to look at while they were waiting. Then when people entered the viewing they were greeted by all Grandpa and Grandma's kids and then got to see him. As they left they could look at pictures of his life and watch a video that was made for the 50th wedding anniversary 10 years ago. It was nice to have people watch Zoey for me while I was rewiding the video and saying, "hi" to people. On the way home our car got a flat tire and some guy stopped on the side of the road and helped us by shinning his car lights so Joe could see what he was doing. To add to the stress of tomorrow, I now have to get the tire patched before I go to the funeral.

OH... and I have to talk at the funeral. NERVIOUS! Its going to be packed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
